A dream comes true!

Its now very clear to all people who know me that I'm very interested in Charles Darwin work of describing the diversity and the origination of living species and of course his life in general...and I was really dreaming to see how was the life of this man and how did he progress in his work, of course I read too much about him and I read his book of the origin of species several times, I was always having this dream, and imagining how was the progression of his work and the environment around him.

now I'm doing my masters in the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari, in Bari Italy and for my good luck now there is an exhibition about Darwin (his life and his work) so I went there with some of my colleagues, the experience was amazing and I felt like if I'm going to meet some close friend of me who I didn't meet for long time ago, the exhibition was held in the castelo (an old italian castle date back to the time of old roman civilization) and it is really a very good place and very nice choice for the exhibition.

-> the exhibition is starting with some information about the work made my some scientists before Darwin that they were trying to describe the diversity and origin of species like the work of Lamarck and the assumption of the evolution of the neck of giraffe... then the next sessions were about his childhood and how his classmates were thinking about their friend Charles Darwin and they was thinking that he wasn't so clever and nobody can expect any great achievements out of him, but the most important thing about this period is his interest to collect the different beetles from the gardens as a hobby and to see the differences and similarities among it.

then a big session about the beagle trip and how he travelled around the whole world and was noticing and collecting the different forms of life he saw..

then, part of his personal life that really amazed me and showing how methodological this great man was even in his personal affairs, that is when he was thinking about marriage he made something like a list and in the list he wrote in one page (married) and in the other page (not married) then he was stating in each page the consequences of each choice so for example in the page of married he wrote: married so having childern so someone to take care about me when I get old, married means a wife to be with me etc, and on the other page for not married he wrote: no childern etc, and in the end he wrote so marry marry marry,, and he choose his wife in a very logical way.

also one of the most important things that I kept looking at and thinking about is his office room and I really couldn't stop myself from being Egyptian and break the rules and getting inside to take a picture in his room in front of his office and his stuff. (thanks god nobody arrested me).

In the exhibition I saw many letters of his own hand writtings and his original work...

I really like that experience and it was like a dream comming true. I will try to go again whenever I have time too,

I'm very very busy here and the last period I didn't wrtie anything although there are really too much things to talk about but really no time for anything but generally my life now is full of gaining new experiences in different feilds not only my scientific feild...
